Allentown PA Replaces Sig Sauer Pistols with GLOCK after 12 Years

With a population over 120K, Allentown, Pennsylvania is the 3rd largest city in Pennsylvania and also houses the Allentown Police Academy, which supports the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Over 2,850 officers from 187 different municipalities have been trained at the Allentown Police Academy.
Allentown Police Department has transitioned to the GLOCK 19 Gen5 after extensive testing and evaluation to replace their previous Sig Sauer pistols after 12 years.

The Gen5 pistols are a variation of the M pistol selected by the FBI. GLOCK combined the historical reliability and trust in the brand with precisely engineered design changes to meet the demand of consumers world-wide. Among the design enhancements are the GLOCK Marksman Barrel (GMB), which delivers increased accuracy with enhanced polygonal rifling and an improved barrel crown, the removal of finger grooves, an ambidextrous slide-stop lever for better versatility and control, and an nDLC finish which is exclusive to the GLOCK manufacturing process.
