– Smith & Wesson® Pro-Shooter, Jerry Miculek, to Attempt New Speed Record

SPRINGFIELD, Mass., January 13, 2017 — (ArmsVault.com) – Smith & Wesson Corp., today announced an exciting addition to this year’s Industry Day at the Range schedule: Smith & Wesson-sponsored Pro-Shooter, Jerry Miculek, will attempt to set a new speed record on his “STL-Drill.”  Using the newest M&P® 15T rifle, Miculek will attempt to fire 10 shots across multiple targets in under 1.7 seconds, his previous best time.  He will setup for his attempt at the Smith & Wesson range bay on Monday, January 16 at 11 a.m. Pacific time.

Fans will be familiar with the STL-Drill” from Jerry’s video on YouTube.  Spectators will witness Miculek starting with an M&P 15T, safety engaged, finger out of the trigger guard, aiming at a 6-inch by 6-inch starting point at a distance of 15 feet.  On signal, he will engage the center target with 4 shots at center-mass, then he will move up the target to the A/B for two shots. From there, Miculek will transfer to the left-target and place two shots center-mass. He will then transfer to the remaining target, placing two shots to center-mass. The entire drill will consist of ten shots while the muzzle will travel over twelve feet.

Miculek said, “I know this is going to be a challenge, but I believe with my hard-work and my exceptional equipment I can complete the drill in under 1.7 seconds.”

Before Miculek attempts to set the speed record, media members are encouraged to stop by the Smith & Wesson booth on Industry Day at 8:30 a.m. and allow Smith & Wesson Team Captain, Julie Golob to introduce them to the new 2017 product lineup.
