If you have trouble maintaining accuracy at longer distances while using a red dot sight, you might want to try using a magnifier. The magnifier shown in this image is the Samson 3.5x Magnifier with QR Quick Flip Mount. This mount allows you quickly transition between the red dot, and red dot with magnifier.
My wife has actually claimed this magnifier as a standard piece of equipment for her AR-15. However, she was kind enough to allow me to borrow it to see how it pairs up with the Trijicon MRO, which I have mounted on the Windham SRC.
As was the case with other red dots I’ve paired up with the Samson Magnifier, I found that the magnification is a big help when shooting beyond 50 yards. The only issue I had was actually with the Trijicon MRO. While I really do like the MRO, its red dot isn’t overly crisp. So, using a magnifier does tend to exaggerate that non-crispness. That being said, I still saw improved accuracy when using the Samson Magnifier with the MRO.
Now… I’ve got to get the Samson Magnifier back on my wife’s rifle before she loses patience with me for taking her stuff!
