Case Trimming:
Cases can stretch upon firing. Cases that do not meet proper specifications can create a safety hazard due to improper headspace and possible increased pressure. Therefore, if cases are to be reused, it is important to ensure they are returned to their proper specs before reloading. Case trimming is the process of shortening an overly long case to bring it back to proper specifications. Most reloading manuals list both a trim size and a max length. Many different types of case trimming tools are available.
