CZ 457 Wins Outdoor Life’s Editor’s Choice Award
“A blast to shoot,” Shooting Editor noted
Kansas City, KS – (ArmsVault.com) – The editorial staff at Outdoor Life magazine recently burned through thousands of rounds testing the newest hunting and precision centerfire rifles and rimfires. In all, 18 new rifles were tested based on handling, accuracy, workmanship, aesthetics, ergonomics, versatility, reliability, and value. The CZ-USA 457 Varmint MTR in .22 LR came out on top, winning an Outdoor Life Editor’s Choice Award!
“This sweet little rimfire from CZ has some serious competition features worked into its design,” John B. Snow, Outdoor Life’s Shooting Editor, noted in his review. “But at the end of the day, it won our hearts and an Editor’s Choice award by virtue of just being a blast to shoot. CZ’s firearms have a long-standing reputation for their fine metalwork, and the 457 is no exception.”
Jason Morton, Vice President of Marketing for CZ-USA, said everyone at CZ was very gratified by the recognition. “All of the staff at CZ-USA contributed to this Editor’s Choice award with a good deal of hard work and dedication to making the best firearms we can,” Morton said. “We truly appreciate that Outdoor Life recognizes our efforts and rated the 457 Varmint MTR so highly.”
For each issue of Outdoor Life, the magazine’s experts go in-depth to provide readers with accurate and unbiased assessments of the newest hunting, fishing, and outdoor-related gear on the market, including product cost and the value that represents.
Outdoor Life’s experts run each product through a specially designed and very-thorough testing process. Following these tests, the scores are tallied, with the top product in each category given the Editor’s Choice Award.
The “MTR” in the 457 Varmint MTR stands for “Match Target Rifle,” and the chamber on this rimfire rifle is cut to the tightest specifications to perform impressively well with top-tier ammo. The Turkish walnut stock has a vertical grip with a comfortable palm swell and laser stippling for texture. A large, flat forend has dual QD studs for running a bipod and a sling; wrap-around stippling provides exceptional grip for the forward hand.
And, as Shooting Editor John Snow discovered, it’s just a blast to shoot!
