United Sporting Companies Announces the Consolidation of its Pittston, PA Facility
Chapin, S.C. – (ArmsVault.com) – United Sporting Companies announced today a plan to consolidate its Pittston, Pennsylvania distribution facility into its existing Chapin, SC, and Bellefontaine, OH facilities.
The consolidation will reduce costs, increase efficiencies, and optimize the utilization of the USC distribution network. The closure of the Pittston, Pennsylvania operation is expected to be complete by May 2019.
“We continue to look for ways to better serve our customers, we are committed to identifying cost savings opportunities and increasing efficiencies. The rationalization of this facility is the outcome of these efforts,” said United Sporting Companies Chairman and CEO Brad Johnson.
United Sporting Companies opened the Pittston operation in 2011 after the company purchased Jerry’s Sport Center. The facility is being absorbed into our Bellefontaine, OH and Chapin, SC distribution centers.
