Hornady® Recognized as Business of the Year
Grand Island, NE – (ArmsVault.com) – Hornady® Manufacturing Company has been named the 2018 Business of the Year by the Grand Island Area Economic Development Corporation.
President Steve Hornady received the award on behalf of the company at the Economic Development Corporation’s annual meeting on Wednesday, May 23, at Riverside Golf Club in Grand Island, Nebraska.
“It’s a great honor for us to be recognized as the Business of the Year by the EDC,” Hornady said. “From the beginning, our company has been located in Grand Island, Nebraska and although we sell our products globally, we are proud of our Central Nebraska heritage and we also look forward to what the future holds for us here in our hometown.”
A family-owned business, Hornady Manufacturing was founded by Steve’s father, J.W. Hornady, in 1949 in Grand Island. Steve became president in 1981, and his son, Jason, serves the company as vice president.
Beginning from its original offering of a .30-caliber 150-grain spire point bullet, Hornady Manufacturing has grown into a world leader in bullet, ammunition, security, reloading tool and accessory design and manufacturing.
Hornady Manufacturing received LB840 job incentive funds from the EDC in 2010 to expand its workforce and is currently building 150,000-square-foot addition to its operation, which will open in August.
