Let the Ruger 10/22 Modifications Begin!
The Ruger 10/22 is a great rifle that doesn’t require modification. That being said, so many modifications exist for the 10/22, modification is simply too hard to resist!
Our 10/22 began as the 1256 Carbine Model. It was certainly a nice looking rifle in its standard form, but we decided to give it more of a tactical look with the FAB Defense UAS R10/22 Stock Conversion. Actually, it isn’t fair to say that this stock modification is simply for cosmetic reasons. The UAS R10/22 also gives you the benefit of a folding stock, built-in adjustable cheek-rest, and 1913 MIL-STD Picatinny side and lower rails. In the above photo you can see that we used the lower rail to mount the FAB Defense PTK Ergonomic Pointing Grip.
Installing aftermarket stocks on the 10/22 platform is super-easy, and the UAS R10/22 Stock is no exception. To remove the action from the factory stock, simply remove the barrel band (if applicable) and the takedown screw, which is located in front of the magazine. You may have to move the safety to the halfway-point to allow the action of come out. Once the action is removed, simply insert it into the new stock. Installing the UAS R10/22 stock and PTK grip probably took me less than 5 minutes.
