Smith & Wesson M&P Shield 9mm No Thumb Safety First Look

Smith and Wesson MP Shield 9mm No Thumb Safety
Smith & Wesson M&P Shield 9mm with Winchester 9mm from Lucky Gunner

For several months, my wife and I have been talking about updating our EDC handguns. After a lot of debate, we were able to narrow our choices down to two single-stack 9mm pistols. This week we were lucky enough to get both pistols in for testing.

The first of the two pistols is the Smith & Wesson M&P Shield 9mm with No Thumb Safety. I don’t recall exactly when the Shield was first released, but there is no doubt that it has become an extremely popular firearm for concealed carry. I feel as if I have read or watched countless positive reviews about this handgun!

Over the next few months, our goal is to put a wide variety of 9mm through this Shield (and the other pistol, which will be unveiled within the next day or so) and report back on its performance. We are also working on getting some holsters lined up for testing.
