Top U.S. Firearms Manufacturers Named In July Issue Of Shooting Industry
(ArmsVault.com) – The July issue of Shooting Industry presents its annual assessment of the U.S. firearms industry, which includes production data from top U.S. firearms manufacturers and examines current buying trends. In “U.S. Firearms Industry Today,” Publisher Russ Thurman maintains while the current industry-wide downturn has been harsh, there are signs the market is stabilizing.
“Following aggressive marketing to rightsize overloaded inventories and to draw consumers back into gun shops, there are indications the market is stabilizing,” Thurman said. “That may seem difficult to grasp, especially at the dealer level, where parking lots haven’t been full in many months. And there are still the summer months to navigate on the way to a hoped-for healthy hunting and holiday buying season. It’s then, most experts say, the industry will experience modest growth.”
Using the latest data available, this special July feature includes numerous production charts — revealing top U.S. firearms manufacturers from 2013, as well as import/export data from 2013 and 2014. The full production data can be viewed online at www.shootingindustry.com/u-s-firearms-industry-today-2015.
Readers will gain insight from Carolee Anita Boyle’s look at the gun-cleaning market, as dealers identify top sellers and the noticeable differences in what cleaning products younger and older consumers are purchasing to clean their guns.
“Some of the new shooters are buying products like the BoreSnake from Hoppe’s. These are shooters who want to do a quick ‘clean and go,’ said Reed Payne, co-owner of Ross Coin & Gun in Idaho Falls, Idaho. “The younger group is all about how quickly they can get the cleaning done, whereas the older group is about how well they can clean the gun.”
Additional topics in the July issue include how the industry is taking the lead on gun safety with Project ChildSafe’s “Own It? Protect It. Secure It.” initiative, what dealers can do to host a women’s appreciation event at their store and why creating an “experience” for customers can pay big dividends.
