Smith & Wesson Wins 2015 SHOT Show® Industry Day at the Range™ Action Target Safety Award
PROVO, Utah – Jan. 29, 2015 – SHOT Show Industry Day at the Range is pleased to announce that Smith & Wesson is the 2015 winner of the Action Target Safety Award. Smith & Wesson held the highest standard of safety during the shooting event held on January 19 at the Boulder Rifle and Pistol Range in Boulder City, Nevada.
More than 160 Industry Day exhibitors were judged on their firearms safety practices by a panel of safety auditors from DOA Tactical. The scores for each exhibitor were determined based on specific safety criteria such as the handling of firearms, ammunition placement and maintaining a safe environment at their shooting stations.
Smith & Wesson was awarded the Action Target Safety Award at Action Target’s SHOT Show booth (#14568). In addition to the award, Smith & Wesson will also receive $2,000 toward their 2016 Industry Day exhibit fee.
“Safety is paramount for events like this,” Smith & Wesson’s Director of Marketing Jan Mladek said. “We wanted everyone to have a fun and safe experience, so we had range safety officers providing one-on-one instruction with the people who came to our shooting bay.”
The award was presented by representatives of SHOT Show Industry Day at the Range and Action Target’s Marketing Manager Seth Ercanbrack.
“Sponsoring the Shot Show Industry Day at the Range Safety Award is very important to us as a company,” Ercanbrack said. “We want this event to continue to be a great way for media and buyers to try out new guns and accessories, so we are very appreciative of companies like Smith & Wesson that go out of their way to keep people safe.”
The tenth annual SHOT Show Industry Day at the Range took place on Monday, January 19, 2015. With more than 1,100 members of the media and over 500 buyers and dealers in attendance, Industry Day continues to be the largest hands-on media event in the hunting and shooting industry.
