Columbia, MO –The MidwayUSA Foundation, a public charity working to sustain youth shooting sports by providing long-term funding to youth shooting teams, recently welcomed two new members to its Board of Directors. The two added to the eleven-person board are Michael D. English and Michael Callahan. Michael English brings 27 years of sport and business experience, spending the last ten years with the United States Olympic Committee where he was responsible for three Olympic Training Centers and Eleven Olympic Training Sites. Michael Callahan adds more than 36 years of leadership and public company management experience in the Sporting Goods and Outdoor Industry. His current position is serving as the President and CEO of Aspen Partners.
“Through their vast experience and passion for youth shooting, Mike English and Mike Callahan’s addition to the Board of Directors will help us accomplish our mission of ‘helping communities raise money to support their youth shooting teams’,” said Dick Leeper, Executive Director of the MidwayUSA Foundation. The MidwayUSA Foundation has given nearly $5 million dollars to youth shooting programs. Shooting teams with a Team Endowment Account grow their account through a variety of ways, including private donations, fundraisers, and earnings. Each year, teams are eligible to draw a grant for up to 5% of their account balance to use for team expenses, such as ammunition, range fees, uniforms, travel and more.
