WEST HARTFORD, Conn. (July 24, 2014) – Colt’s Manufacturing Company, one of the world’s leading designers, developers and manufacturers of firearms, proudly sponsored FMG’s Shooting Industry Masters event at the gold level, as well as donating a special Single Action Army® Revolver to the event’s charitable auction. The revolver was specially engraved to commemorate Sam Colt’s 200th birthday, which is being celebrated throughout the year. It was auctioned at a final price of $3,600, with 100-percent of the proceeds benefitting USA Shooting.
“We all look forward to the FMG Shooting Industry Masters each year,” said Joyce Rubino, Vice President of Marketing for Colt’s Manufacturing Company. “This is a wonderful event that brings the industry together for a fun weekend of safe shooting and fundraising. We are thrilled that the Single Action Army® Revolver donation brought in as much as it did to support a great organization like USA Shooting.”
The Single Action Army Revolver donation was a model P2870Z with a 7.5-inch barrel and original black powder style frame. It was specially engraved in the Colt Custom Shop to commemorate the 200th birthday of company founder and namesake Samuel Colt. The backstrap features gold-filled engravings of Sam Colt’s signature and the bicentennial dates 1814-2014. It is also intricately engraved along the barrel, cylinder and frame.
As in years past, Colt was also a gold sponsor of the event. The FMG 2014 Shooting Industry Masters was held July 18-19 at the Indian River Shooting Range in Sebastian, Fla. It is a private industry event consisting of a variety of target shooting disciplines designed for both professional and novice four-person teams. The Shooting Industry Masters has raised nearly $300,000 for the NSSF’s First Shots program and USA Shooting since 2001.
