LaserMax Introduces CenterFire for S&W J-Frame

March 25, 2014 (Rochester, NY) – LaserMax® is excited to announce the expansion of their popular CenterFire™ laser series to include a model custom designed for Smith & Wesson® J-Frame revolvers. Like all CenterFire lasers, the new sight features LaserMax’s signature Controlled Activation,™  which enables the user to operate from concealment without revealing his or her position. Scheduled for an official unveiling at the 2014 NRA Annual Meetings and Exhibits in Indianapolis, Indiana, the CenterFire for J-Frame will be offered in both red and green variants.

With decades of reliable performance to its credit, the Smith & Wesson J-Frame has become one of the most popular small frame revolvers on the market. The pistol’s reduced size and weight paired with safe and simple operation make it uniquely suited for concealed carry.  Also a commonly chosen backup gun for law enforcement, the J-Frame features a long, heavy trigger pull that acts as a safety mechanism.  Adding a LaserMax laser sight promotes faster shooting and more positive target acquisition. It also addresses the accuracy challenges presented by the limited mass and long trigger pull of this winning platform.

“Equipping small revolvers such as the Centennial satisfies one of our more frequent customer requests,” explained Kurt Worden, VP of Sales, LaserMax. “LaserMax takes great pride in offering the world’s finest laser sighting solutions and this newest offering is an essential addition to our product lineup.” The CenterFire for J-Frame joins models for other popular compact pistols including the Ruger LCR, LCP, LC9 and LC380, Smith & Wesson Shield, Beretta Nano, Colt Mustang and Kahr subcompact.

User installed in minutes, the CenterFire for J-frame incorporates advanced functionality including improved tap-on/tap-off activation, a 10-minute auto time-out feature and the ability to switch between a solid or pulsed beam. Compatible with S&W models 642, 442, 637, 638 and 438, the new CenterFire laser will retail for $149 in red and $199 in green. Shipments to retailers are scheduled to begin in May.
