FN SUPPORTS INAUGURAL FN SCAR OWNER’S GROUP SHOOT

(McLean, VA – July 17, 2017) – (ArmsVault.com) – FN America, LLC was invited to participate in the first-ever FN SCAR® Owner’s Group Shoot, hosted Saturday, June 10, at Low Country Preserve in Tabor City, North Carolina. The event was organized by Andrew “A.J.” Wiseman, a regular contributor to the FN SCAR Owner’s Group or FN SOG for short, and is the first in what is hoped to be an annual meeting of SCAR rifle owners.

“The FN SCAR Owners Group Shoot represents a unique opportunity for FN to interact with some of it’s most passionate and loyal customers,” said Tom Scott, director of marketing for FN America, LLC. “We walked away from the weekend with an invaluable amount of product and industry insight, as well as with a long list of new friends.”

“I joined the FN SCAR Owner’s Group a little over two years ago after my purchase of an FN SCAR 17S and quickly realized that this group was different than any other firearm related group on Facebook,” said Andrew Wiseman. The FN SCAR Owner’s Group forum is a Facebook forum group with more than 3,000 dedicated members, each sharing in their passion for the FN SCAR platform. According to Wiseman, members display pictures of their rifle setups, share advice on different types of accessories and optics, and pay it forward to other members by offering up gear to the group that is no longer needed.

After initially planning the gathering as a way for fellow FN SCAR owners to get together for a shoot, Wiseman extended the invitation to FN to attend, which was accepted graciously. “The whole group brainstormed and were all dead set on making this gathering a success. We had originally planned for a small group to be hosted on my property but then FN got involved and the number of members attending jumped dramatically. The shoot was a huge success and something I’ll remember for the rest of my life. I’m already looking forward to next year’s shoot.”

For its part, FN brought out the select-fire FN SCAR MK16 and MK17, designed for and currently fielded within USSOCOM, as well as the FN SCAR PDW, a personal defense and close quarters rifle, and the company’s newest striker-fired pistol, the FN 509, a further development of the company’s submission to the U.S. Army’s Modular Handgun System solicitation that was concluded earlier this year.
