Team Wilson Combat Has Strong Showing at Arkansas State IDPA Championship

[ Berryville, Arkansas, June 6th, 2018 ] (ArmsVault.com) Members of the Wilson Combat shooting team recently attended the Arkansas State IDPA Championship in Berryville, Arkansas. The match was held at the historic Arkansas Combat Pistol League which is IDPA’s Club #1.

IDPA Distinguished Master, Greg Martin once again had a dominating performance while shooting his CQB Elite. He took home the Division Champion title in the Enhanced Service Pistol (ESP) division, along with High Senior and having the best overall time of the match.

Jared Phillips had a strong finish as the Stock Service Pistol (SSP) Division Champion as well as finishing 4th overall in the match.

“The Arkansas State Championship was a blast. At first it looked like a simple straight forward match, but then we started shooting. There were some challenging shots to be made and game plans that didn’t go as planned. Overall the match was well run and I enjoyed shooting it. My Wilsonized GLOCK® 34 ran without an issue and my Ares Tactical competition gear worked flawlessly as always.” – Jared Phillips

Austin Proulx once again took home the Division Champion title for the Custom Defensive Pistol (CDP) division shooting his CQB Elite chambered in .45 ACP. Austin also won the High Industry title.

Mandy Bachman had a great match finishing 1st place in the ESP Master division with her CQB Elite. She also took home the title of High Lady and finished 2nd overall for the match.

“I had several errors in the first two stages of the match and quickly decided that I wasn’t going to let that set the pace for the day. I really had to put a lot of focus into shooting accurately and executing the stages as I planned.” – Mandy Bachman

Pat Doyle came in as 2nd SSP Master and High Law Enforcement shooting the Beretta/Wilson Brigadier Tactical®.

Guy Joubert came in as 1st CDP Expert while shooting his X-TAC Elite. He also had an impressive 12 points down total for the match.

“The Arkansas State Championship was a straight forward match with enough difficulty in stage design, target array, and shooting positions to make it more challenging than it appeared. It was good to be in Berryville at a range and host club (ACPL, the very first IDPA Club) with so much history. Wilson Combatrepresented well having eight team shooters and several Wilson Combat employees competing at the match.” – Guy Joubert

Walt Proulx had a nice finish as 2nd place CDP Master and 7th overall shooting a CQB Elite.

“I came into this match planning to focus on accuracy and it paid off. I finished with 19 points down and no non-threats in a match that put a premium on careful aiming. There were lots of tight shots and many very accurate shooters put holes in non-threats. Team Wilson Combat took home seven of the top ten spots and many special category awards. It is always a pleasure to squad with the rest of the Wilson Combat team and as anyone will tell you, this is a group of just plain good people. I am proud to represent the brand and proud to call everyone of them a teammate.” – Walt Proulx

Junior shooter and youngest member of the Wilson Combat team, Ryan Hern finished 2nd in the Junior Division.

Congratulations to the team!
