Kimber’s 10mm Super Jägare Featured In May/June American Handgunner

(ArmsVault.com) – Derived from a Swedish word for “hunter,” Kimber’s new Super Jägare checks off just about every cool point that can be dreamed up for this kind of 10mm. A handgunner’s-handgun, the Jägare’s exquisite details and superb prowess are detailed by Contributing Editor Mark Hampton in the May/June issue of American Handgunner.

Out the gate, the Super Jägare comes stock with a Leupold DeltaPoint Pro optic and match-grade, 6-inch ported barrel. Diamond Like Carbon coating, Super Carry cocking serrations and G10 checkered grips add touches of elegance and a “custom shop” feel to this striking handgun. Mark noted early on from 25 yards out, 5-shot 2-inch groups were easily managed by more than just a couple brands of ammo. Equally impressive results were delivered at 50, 75 and 100 yards.

“Kimber’s new Super Jägare 10mm is loaded with embellishments far exceeding my expectations. This is a handgunner’s-handgun at every level and something special, indeed. Hunting is not the only reason for choosing [it]. Connoisseurs of Kimber may want to add this pistol to their collection — just because,” he shares.

In “Making A Good Gun Great,” the Smith & Wesson Bodyguard .380 ACP gets treated to a host of Galloway Precision upgrades including a new trigger bar, increased rate hammer spring, billet steel guide rod and corresponding 13-lb. recoil spring. After a polish and general once-over, a +1 magazine extension is set in place. “… the artisans at Galloway Precision retain all that is wholesome and righteous about the original firearm and polish out the bad stuff. The treatment dropped my S&W Bodyguard .380 back into my pocket,” Will Dabbs, MD reports.

Springfield Armory’s SAINT AR-15 pistol has marched to the top of the issue’s Handgun Of The Month giveaway. The May/June issue explores some of the standout products on display at SHOT Show 2018. In this month’s “Shooting Iron” column, Mike “Duke” Venturino declares why, according to his opinion, load/accuracy charts are a waste of time. Heresy? You be the judge. In “The Ayoob Files,” history buffs will relish recounts of the grisly gunfights General Douglas MacArthur won — against overwhelming odds.
